Nicholas Roerich Museum
An intimate, free museum focused on the paintings and cultural ideas of Nicholas Roerich.

A daytime cultural visit
The house and the collection
An Upper West Side museum devoted to Nicholas Roerich offers another way into the city’s smaller cultural institutions. The focus is the artist’s work and ideas, rather than an account of a millionaire household.
The museum holds approximately 200 paintings, with most on permanent display. Roerich’s subjects connect landscape, myth and spiritual inquiry; the focused collection rewards a slower visit.
