Merchant’s House Museum
Original household furnishings, domestic history and the rooms of a nineteenth-century New York family.

A daytime cultural visit
The house and the collection
The Tredwell family’s former home preserves rooms filled with original furnishings and possessions. It offers a closer domestic view of nineteenth-century New York than a purpose-built gallery can provide.
The house includes the family rooms, service spaces and garden. Look for the contrast between the household’s formal presentation and the work required to maintain it.
