Alice Austen House
Photography, period rooms and a historic waterfront home on Staten Island.

A daytime cultural visit
The house and the collection
Alice Austen’s Staten Island home adds photography and a waterfront setting to the historic-house circuit. Its cottage scale broadens the story beyond the palatial residences of Fifth Avenue.
Combine the period rooms with the museum’s photographic exhibitions. The house makes a useful starting point for learning about Austen’s work and the changing visual record of New York.

General admission is a suggested $5. Check the current exhibition and closure notices before making the trip.
