Opens Tuesday, December 1, 2026, and runs through January 22, 2027, at ICA Miami’s Expansion building.

Romanticism, rewritten

The exhibition is built around Kunath’s dialogue with Caspar David Friedrich and the Rückenfigur, the figure seen from behind. Paintings, sculptures and installations from across his career appear with a new immersive digital environment drawn from his use of lyrics, titles and text.

Plan the visit

ICA Miami organizes the exhibition with DMINTI and the Nassima Art Foundation. The Expansion building is at 23 NE 41st Street, a few doors from the main museum.
