The Palm Beach season has not formally begun by the end of October, but the ocean keeps its own calendar. On Friday, October 30, Loggerhead Marinelife Center brings its 17th annual Go Blue Awards to the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, a midday luncheon that recognizes the people, young people, businesses and nonprofits doing the most for the waters off Florida and beyond. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m., the ballroom doors at 11:50, and the luncheon and awards presentation run from noon to 1:30 p.m.

What the charity supports

The Go Blue Awards connect recognition of ocean-conservation work with Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission. Research, education, conservation and care for sea turtles give the event a purpose beyond a luncheon and awards presentation. Explore the organization’s work.

Where support goes

Support helps sustain the center and its conservation community. The awards recognize different forms of contribution, including youth, businesses, nonprofits and individual advocates. The public invitation does not assign each ticket to one turtle patient or a single research project.

The people behind the work

Andy Dehart serves as president and CEO. The 2026 event names marine biologist Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza as special guest speaker and Eleanor Fletcher Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Scientists, care teams, educators and volunteers contribute to the center’s work. Meet the organization.

Why this evening matters

The Circuit Report watches the turn of the Palm Beach season closely, and the Go Blue Awards are among its more grounded openers. The honorees are working scientists, reporters, waterkeepers and teenagers restoring oyster reefs, and the judges include some of the best-known names in ocean storytelling. For a region whose identity depends on the health of its coastline, a lunch that celebrates the people protecting it feels less like a social obligation than a civic one. It also comes with an unusually good reason to attend early: the youth award finalists are, on paper, among the most impressive young people on any stage this autumn.
