Bar CC Gives the Crane Club Address a Cocktail Bar of Its Own
Harrison Ginsberg’s cocktails, Melissa Rodriguez’s small plates and a separate public bar at the Crane Club address in West Chelsea.
At 85 Tenth Avenue, the booking matters as much as the address. Crane Club Restaurant, its Members Lounge and Bar CC share a name and a neighborhood, but they serve different kinds of evenings. Bar CC is the option built around drinks—and its regular tables are available to the public.
The distinction matters for readers following our Crane Club coverage. A bar visit does not require applying for a club membership, and it does not grant admission to the Members Lounge.
The people behind the bar
Bar CC brings together beverage director Harrison Ginsberg and chef Melissa Rodriguez, with restaurateur Jeff Katz and Tao Group Hospitality.
Ginsberg arrives with a background at Crown Shy, Saga and Overstory. As Eater reported on August 5, the project takes over the former Mel’s space. Its design team includes Tao Group’s Susan Nugraha and Laseu Studio, with velvet walls and walnut millwork among the planned finishes.
Rodriguez and Katz’s connection to the address runs deeper. Both worked at Del Posto before acquiring the space in 2021 and opening Al Coro, Discolo and Mel’s in 2022. Their subsequent partnership with Tao Group produced Crane Club. Bar CC extends that history with a different format: a bar rather than another full restaurant.
A shorter menu and a longer evening
The current venue page pairs Ginsberg’s cocktails with a wine collection exceeding 1,000 selections and Rodriguez’s seasonal small plates. It gives the bar a clear place alongside the restaurant: somewhere to meet over drinks and food without making a full dinner the centerpiece.
The question for a future visit is how those elements work together—the drinks, the pace of service and the room as the evening develops. For now, this is a reported introduction. Our firsthand impressions of the Members Lounge should not be mistaken for a review of Bar CC.
How to visit
Bar CC keeps most tables for walk-ins and offers a small number of reservations nightly. The official hours checked October 26 are Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 p.m.–midnight, and Thursday through Saturday, 6 p.m.–1 a.m.; it is closed Sunday and Monday.
