What the benefit supports
The New York Public Library’s annual benefit honors achievement in literature, the arts and scholarship while bringing supporters together at its Fifth Avenue landmark.
Where support goes
Support goes to The New York Public Library, the public institution behind circulating collections, research resources and learning programs. The dinner is a philanthropic occasion rather than ordinary museum or library admission.
The people and organization
The announced 2026 Library Lions are Joy Harjo, Stephen King, George Packer, Aaron Sorkin, Martha Stewart and Jesmyn Ward. Their individual biographies appear on the official campaign page. Explore the official program.
